Administration

The CCRD operates in accordance with the Board-Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) model of local government.  The central feature of this model is the separation of governance and administration.  The Board is the governing body responsible for setting a vision, developing strategies to achieve the vision, and formulating policies.  The CAO is the professional manager responsible for administration.  The CAO implements the Board's policies and decisions, and handles all operations.

The Regional District's administration is commissioned with the day-to-day operation of the Regional District and is limited by the policies and bylaws of the Regional Board, the requirements of the Local Government Act, the Regional District's Letters Patent and supplementary Letters Patent, as well as other relevant statutes.
