Declaration of State of Local Emergency

Tote Road/Precipice

Due to the Precipice Creek wildfire and the Evacuation Order issued July 9, 2017, the CCRD has been advised that, as a matter of administrative procedure, a State of Local Emergency be declared in support of the current wildfire located in CCRD Area C.

WHEREAS there is a wildfire in the Central Coast Regional District;

AND WHEREAS the wildfire behavior presents an imminent threat to life or property;

AND WHEREAS this wildfire emergency requires prompt coordination of action or special regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety or welfare of people or to limit damage to property;


IT IS HEREBY ORDERED pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the Emergency Program Act (RS, 1996, Chap 111) that a state of local emergency exists in the Central Coast Regional District Area īCī (Tote Road/Precipice) due to the Precipice wildfire potentially resulting in severe impact to residents and property;

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT the Central Coast Regional District, its employees, servants and agents are empowered pursuant to Section 13 (1) of the Emergency Program Act to do all acts and implement all procedures that are considered necessary to prevent or to alleviate the effects of the emergency.        

ORDERED by the Chair of the Central Coast Regional District this date July 15, 2017 to remain in force for seven days until July 21, 2017 at midnight unless cancelled by order of Central Coast Regional District or the Minister responsible.
