Tsunami Warning Previously Issued - CANCELLED

Central Coast - Coastal and Inland Sections

A large earthquake occurred in the Pacific Basin near Kodiak Alaska.  The National Tsunami Warning Center had issued a tsunami warning that included Zone B - the Central Coast and Northwest Vancouver Island Coast, including Kitimat, Bella Coola and Port Hardy.

Tactical evacuations occurred in Bella Coola, Bella Bella, Denny Island, Ocean Falls, and Wuikinuxv.

The Tsunami Warning previously issued for coastal areas of British Columbia has been CANCELLED because additional information and analysis have better defined the threat.
