Wildfire Activity Update

September 5, 2018

Hello.

Today´s weather should be similar yesterday´s, with the possibility of increasing temperatures in some of the warmer valley bottoms. Smoke that impacted some valleys should clear today as winds shift directions. Tomorrow will see an increase in wind speeds, in advance of a weather system that is expected to bring showers and rain to the coast of BC at the end of the week. It is currently not clear how much precipitation will fall into the Tweedsmuir complex´s area from this storm over ...

WildFire Update - August 9, 2018

Hello all,

Today´s coordination call included an update from Coastal Wildfire. It sounds like they have re-categorized the fire near Heckman Pass as ´under control´ given the 20 or so firefighters have kept it contained to 40 hectares. Chief Webber participated in a flyover yesterday and my understanding from his comments is that visually it looked like it was out. Thank you to Coastal Wildfire for all their efforts in fighting this fire and keeping Highway 20 open as a result.

Wildfire Update

Hello all,

I have another update for you regarding the wildfire fight that remains about 1 km from highway 20.
