Policy 9A (c) Facilities Inspection Policy - Recreation/Parks
Policy No. A-9 (c)
CENTRAL COAST REGIONAL DISTRICT
Policy: Facilities Inspection Policy - Recreation/Parks - Arena, Walker Is. Park, Tennis Courts. Beaver Pond.
Preamble: An inspection policy will identify hazards and remedies and will prevent and reduce injuries to staff, volunteers and site users. It will also assist the Parks and Recreation Commissioners in determining the life expectancy and preservation of the facilities, in examining the service provided and in evaluating the efficiency and economics of the sites. An inspection policy will also aid the Commission in providing support for the request of budget funds.
Policy: An inspection of the sites will be conducted twice annually by a member of the Parks/Recreation Commission as designated by the commissioners. The inspection will be conducted in such a manner as to easily identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions. Documentation will provide a list of undesirable conditions as well as evidence of the work that is completed.
It is the responsibility of the Parks/Recreation Commission to inform and respond to the CCRD Board of Directors as to the progress made in complying with required corrective action taken in addressing the details of the inspection. The report format will be consistent with CCRD Policy E-1 Commission Reporting Requirements and may be in the form of monthly meeting minutes.
