Policy: Committee/Commission Report Requirements

Preamble: As the CCRD Board of Directors is ultimately responsible to the taxpayers; regular reporting requirements by committees and commissions of the regional district and Societies where the regional district has a representative on the Society's board of directors (ie. Bella Coola Harbour Authority, Bella Coola Watershed Conservation Society, Coast Connect Development Society and Bella Coola Nuxalk Resource Society), should be clearly defined.  Neither delegating nor the performing of duties without documentation forwarded to the board is adequate.

Policy: That, in order to ensure that the board of directors is kept in touch regarding the activities of various committees, commissions and Societies, reporting requirements are hereby established as being once every two (2) months.  Reporting should be in writing for ease of distribution and to allow for minimum misinterpretation.  Reports need not be detailed or lengthy.  Copies of the minutes of monthly meetings are recommended and will meet all requirements of reporting to the board.
