Policy: Directors Travel to Board Meetings
Preamble: The present Board consists of only 5 directors. Directors are often absent for reasons of transportation, work away from the jurisdiction and other reasons. A missing director at any board meeting diminishes public representation and the quality of decision making. It is important that a policy define the circumstances in which the Regional District will accommodate the transportation costs associated with director representation at the board table.
Policy: That precedence for director travel be established as those members that, at the time of the board meeting, are actually within the boundaries or the Central Coast Regional District. This will be the first priority in terms of transportation costs and the annual budget is established accordingly.
However, in the event the electoral area 'A' director is absent from Central Coast Regional District, provisions for the transportation of the electoral area 'A' director will be made. At Regional District expense, to the maximum cost as provided in annual budget
