Policy: Personnel Development (Training) Costs
Preamble: It is the desire of the Board to encourage the professional development of all staff in the interest of quality local government administration. To this end, funds are allocated regularly in the annual budgets. The administration of these funds should be by some consistent standard.
Policy: Professional development courses may be taken at Regional District expense on the following basis:
1. That the first 50% of the course cost will be paid as accountable advance and that payment reimbursement of 100% be made upon successful completion of the course.
2. That the course taken be applicable to the employee in his/her
position with the Regional District.
3. That a written application be approved by the Administrator
providing funds are available in the current budget.
4. In the case of the Administrator making the application, the
approval shall be by the Chairperson.
